Daughter of Smoke & Bone
This book was a refreshing surprise. I was expecting another angel and demon book along the line of the Hush Hush or Fallen series. But to my delight, Lani Taylor created a world of which I've never imagined. Karou, is poetic, clever, and unique. She is definitely unlike any other young adult protagonist, and her story is much the same.
