Most of the time, when a novel is written in first person, I have to really like the narrator to like the book. This book was an exception, because I hated Kita yet really liked this book. The urban fantasy world and supporting characters made up for Kita's self-pity, cowardice, weak integrity, selfishness, and complete lack of loyalty to anyone that wouldn't advance her own ambitions. I hope she grows up in the next book.
